Splendid Beats Music and Thoughts by Crispy / Leave Trace
Categories: Events

There are a couple of event coming up that I am really excited about. I’m playing at neither, and looking forward to the quality tunes they promise to provide.

Rapidly approaching is Feralia Deceptiva, on Halloween, with live sets by Pitch Black and Bluetech. Both of these acts produce incredible music, but Pitch Black make the beats that I wish I could. I’m really hoping that Bluetech works in some of his brilliant Evan Marc tech-house to keep the dance floor moving and grooving. Surrounding the headliners is a stacked line-up of Seattle’s best, including Osiris Indriya, Michael Manahan, and Skoi Sirius. Wrap this all up within the comfy and bass-heavy walls of the Church of Bass, and this is one Halloween party that is sure to be a blast.

I’m crapping my pants with anticipation for this one. On November 20th, Ott finally makes a Seattle appearance, and I finally get to see him perform. :) For those unaware of the might that is Ott, he’s the best psy-dub producer working in the genre today. His two full-length releases and one remix album on Twisted Records have all been instant classics. “Hallucinogen in Dub” and “Blumenkraft” are both included on my list of all-time favorite records and helped define the genre as we now know it. This man knows his way around a studio and produces the most atmospheric dubbed out bliss music ever to reach my ears. This is not a show to miss! Check out The Goa Constrictor’s excellent review of the the latest Ott release, Skylon.
